There is nothing more relaxing than a bath, a glass of wine and a beautifully scented candle. Most of us burn candles between 1-3 times per week, with half of us burning 1-2 candles at a time. I am definitely one of those statistics.
I don’t know what it is but if I light one candle I will end up going room to room and lighting all of them. I think most of us use candles to make a room feel comfortable and cozy. With our stressful lives we desperately need help creating soothing atmospheres with extra added relaxation time.
Some helpful tips to help guide you when using candles.
I have been told my entire life that freezing a candle before lighting it will make it last longer. However, according to the National Candle Association though it may initially burn slower than a room temperature candle, this effect will not last long as the candle returns to room temperature. So, whatever few extra minutes you might gain from freezing your candle, it’s probably not worth it. Not sure why I couldn’t have figured that out for myself!
A candle shouldn’t produce smoke when it’s burning.
If it is smoking more than likely the wick is too long. Put the flame out, wait for the wick to cool and trim it to about a quarter of an inch (about 6mm) in length.
Blowing out a candle produces lots of soot and smoke, and you also risk blowing droplets of hot liquid wax in the surrounding area. The best way to put out a candle is to use a candle snuffer, which puts the flame out by depriving it of oxygen, or in the case of Avon’s candles, the glass jar is topped with a metal lid perfect for snuffing out the flames!
Dahlia Blush is just one of the many scented candles in Avon’s home fragrance candle collection. All Avon candles burn clean and are 3 wick with a 30 hour burn time. Dahlia Blush will fill your home with the juicy and sweet aroma of strawberry and tangerine balanced by pink jasmine and amber. Pamper your senses! Not a fan of candles? Choose a diffuser, when available, in the same scent with reeds to help distribute scent!
